
Based in Cornwall, Ontario, I am a ceramic artist whose journey began with a simple search for the perfect coffee mug. Over the years, as my husband and I traveled across Canada, I developed an eye for hand-crafted mugs in local gift shops and cafés. I found joy in the feel of the mug in my hand—the shape, the weight, the glaze, and the thoughtful design. If a mug caught my eye and made me smile, I took it home, not just as a keepsake, but as a way to support the artist behind the piece.
This passion for discovering beautifully made ceramics quickly evolved into an interest in creating my own. I signed up for a pottery class and, to my surprise, discovered that working on the wheel was much more challenging than I had imagined. The clay often flew off in all directions, much to my amusement! Yet, despite the messiness, I found myself drawn deeper into the process.
Pottery requires patience, focus, and a willingness to embrace imperfection—values that I also practice in my yoga practice. Over time, I’ve learned to appreciate the therapeutic rhythm of molding clay and the quiet mindfulness it offers. It is through pottery that I’ve come to embody lessons I hold dear:
